Dr. Kee Moon Jang is an assistant professor at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou) Thrust of Urban Governance and Design. He worked as a postdoctoral researcher at MIT Senseable City Lab and completed his PhD with focus on urban design and analytics at Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST). He also holds a bachelor and master degrees from KAIST.
Working at the interface between cities, people, data and design, his research interest is in leveraging data-driven approaches to understand the interaction between urban environment and people, and draw implications for future planning based on quantitative evidence.
Research Interests: place identity, urban perception, environmental exposure (green space, air quality, etc.), urban design for future autonomous cities, generative AI for urban studies.
